A Peperomia Sulcata, has leaves that look like a watermelon, which is exactly where this houseplant get its name. This plant is in the easy-grow category and it actually is great for new plant lovers or as a gift to someone who needs a plant that is easy to care for. It is native to South America and grows up to 30cm tall.
The leaves of this gorgeous are fairly large when compared to the stems, and are oval in shape with a unique mixture of green and silver stripes. Each leaf has a fleshy feel to them that are attached in the center to thin red stems.
A watermelon peperomia's flowers are non-showy, and growers of this houseplant are usually interested more in its foliage than the flower. Flowers may start to appear in summer and are greenish in color.
